This event was flawlessly hosted by the chapter’s secretary, Ar. Lalinka Fe Regalado. She began with an opening prayer to thank our Creator for making the event possible. It was then followed by an opening remark and an inspiring keynote address from a visionary architect who had contributed to the success of the chapter through collaborative partnerships – Past President Ar. Gilbert Fortich. He expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support and contribution of the suppliers, which played a pivotal role in making the event a resounding success. He also emphasized the continuous support needed to further the goals and initiatives of the UAP Davao Chapter. His words helped set the tone for the summit, emphasizing the importance of partnership, trust, and shared values in any prosperous collaboration.
He then turned over the honors to the currently elected Chapter President, Ar. Sheanna Bacus-Melocoton who started with a gracious self-introduction. She briefly explained how the chapter operates on a fiscal year system, allowing for a transition between outgoing and incoming officers and with that proceeded with the introduction of the new set of officers for the Fiscal year 2023-2024.
After the introduction, President Bacus proceeded with appreciating the presence of the attendees, thanked them for sharing their time in this Thanksgiving celebration, and did a roll call to recognize each and every supplier that attended.
With a very thoughtful note, President Sheanna Bacus also recognized the wonderful presence of UAP Davao’s past presidents – Ar. Connie Dy, Ar. Daniel Lim, Ar. Jean Marie Juanga, Ar. Francis Hidalgo, Ar. Noel Chavez, Ar. Sweet Casas, Ar. Michael Madrazo, Ar. Yves Magdamo, Ar. Prospero Abellano and Ar. William Yong, who showed unconditional support.
The president went on to outline a clear vision for the organization's future, assuring the chapter’s rapid growth through the planned calendar of events. It was a bold roadmap, designed to elevate the organization's mission and extend its impact far beyond what they had previously imagined. The speech touched upon the importance of collaboration, inclusivity, and a shared sense of purpose not just for us but for the society. The presentation of the calendar of activities for the upcoming year under her leadership was met with enthusiasm and excitement, and served as a catalyst for the attendees, igniting a spark of excitement for the days ahead.
And of course, what is a momentous event without the delicious meals to share? The chapter, together with our partner for the venue, The Commons, carefully selected and prepared sumptuous meals to fill our guests and attendees with delight and energy for the remainder of the afternoon. As everyone shared the food, presented in the background are clips and pictures from the previous fiscal year's activities and events. This commemorated the successful year that was made possible through everyone’s efforts and contributions.
The summit's agenda was diligently crafted by the incoming officers to make sure everything went smoothly, and to balance formal presentations and informal networking sessions. As part of the Supplier Summit program, Vice President for Operations, Ar. Canusa briefly enumerated these events, including the upcoming Induction of officers and new members, the Chapter Educational trip, and the much-awaited Defining Spaces 15. The board of officers presented the Supplier Summit form which was impeccably explained by Ar. Regalado. This form allowed suppliers to review and assess the rates and packages available for supporting various events organized by the UAP Davao Chapter. The aim was to foster transparency and enhance collaboration between the chapter and its valued suppliers.
To cap off the event, UAP Davao generously organized a raffle event that excited all the suppliers present. Among the prizes for the raffle were P2,000, P5,000, P10,000, and a generous P15,000 voucher. These prizes left smiles to our winners as the chapter could have only hoped.
As the Supplier's Summit came to a close, there was a palpable sense of accomplishment and fulfillment amongst everyone. New collaborations had been forged, existing partnerships had deepened, and the event had ignited a spark that would continue to fuel innovation and progress long after the summit concluded. The success of the summit had proven that when partners come together in a spirit of harmony and collaboration, the possibilities for growth and success are limitless. And so, everyone present resolved to maintain the momentum and build on the foundation laid during those remarkable days, ensuring that the spirit of the Supplier's Summit lived on throughout their professional journeys.
The UAP Davao Chapter looks forward to a prosperous future under the capable leadership of Ar. Sheanna Bacus-Melocoton, and its esteemed suppliers' unwavering support shape the architectural landscape and community in Davao City.
