The United Architects of the Philippines – Davao Chapter held its 2nd successful General Membership Meeting (F.Y. 2023-2024) in the grand halls of D’Leonor Hotel, Bajada, Davao City.
The 2nd General Membership Meeting commenced with the Director for membership, Ar. Zyrra Joy Glodove opened with a prayer. It was then followed by the honoring of the national anthem of the Philippines, the UAP March, and lastly the Architect’s Credo.

The program proceeded with President Sheanna Bacus-Melocoton’s opening remarks. With her usual high spirits, she warmly welcomed and thanked everyone for coming. As the chapter secretary, Lalinka Fe Regalado took over the stage, she acknowledged the presence of everyone including the membership, the past presidents, officers, and online attendees, as well as the generous sponsor for the night, Remark Steel Structure Corporation.
With the presence of our sponsor’s representative, Mr. Nguyen Minh Hung (English: Mark), He was able to continue the flow of the program by presenting their company’s products, services, and accomplished projects. This in turn became an interactive experience for both the attendees on the venue and the participants online who are also joining the GMM. Shortly after finishing, Mr. Mark was presented with a certificate of appreciation given by Pres. Bacus and Ar. Regalado.

After the preliminary part of the event, everyone took a break by sharing the sumptuous dinner prepared by the D’Leonor Hotel staff.
The meeting proper kicked off with a roll call conducted by the Ar. Regalado. Afterward, a motion was set by the membership for the approval of the 1st GMM’s Minutes of the Meeting, and this was promptly seconded and approved.
Ar. Sheanna Bacus-Melocoton gave her President’s Report, delivering a complete overview of the chapter’s standing, plans, and initiatives. Before continuing Ar. Sheanna Bacus-Melocoton’s, Chapter Treasurer Ar. Gimelle Butas presented the Treasurer’s Report, allowing the members to gain transparency and a clear understanding of the chapter’s current financial standing. And lastly, the report was wrapped up with the announcement of the upcoming events, especially the much-awaited 48th Induction Ceremony of the new members.
As the program was coming to an end, the Director for membership, Ar. John Paul Aloy, led everyone to prayer followed by taking a group photo of all the attendees. Everyone had a wonderful and productive night and the President, with a bang of the gavel, officially adjourned the meeting. As everyone left the meeting that night, they carried with them a renewed sense of purpose, a strengthened sense of community, and a deep conviction that their work as architects is not only vital but transformative.
