The UAP Davao Chapter successfully conducted an interview program for Architecture Licensure Examination (ALE) passers and transferees on July 12, 2024. The event occurred at the Airpro Showroom, Bacaca Road, Elrio Vista. It was attended by over 50 new applicants, including those who passed the January and June 2024 Architecture Licensure Exams and transferees from other UAP chapters. This gathering was a significant milestone for the chapter, reflecting its commitment to welcoming and integrating new members.
The program was not just organized but actively spearheaded by the chapter officers and led by the Yours’s truly – Davao Chapter President. Their collective leadership ensured the event was organized smoothly, and the applicants were given a comprehensive overview of the chapter's goals, activities, and expectations. Each officer took the time to engage with the applicants, sharing insights about the chapter's vision and the role new members are expected to play in the organization's future endeavors.
The interview program was divided into several segments, each designed to assess the applicant's readiness to contribute to the chapter and to understand their motivations for joining. The Ar. Panizales opened the program with a welcome address, highlighting the importance of the UAP Davao Chapter in the professional growth of architects in the region. This was followed by a presentation from the Vice President for Plans and Programs – Ar. John Paul Aloy – who outlined the chapter's upcoming projects and initiatives, emphasizing all members' need for active participation. The Vice President for Operations – Ar. Carlo Celso Fuego – then provided an overview of the chapter's organizational structure, and the various committees applicants could join to further their professional development.
One of the key highlights of the program was the introduction of the applicants. The January 2024 ALE passers, the June 2024 ALE passers, and the transferees were all allowed to introduce themselves and share their reasons for wanting to be part of the UAP Davao Chapter. This segment permitted the chapter officers and members present to get to know the applicants better and identify potential leaders.
The Secretary – Ar. Prinz Socriele Arce – and Treasurer – Ar. Edgar Minerva Fortunado – also played crucial roles during the interview program. The Secretary briefed the applicants on the administrative processes involved in becoming a member, including submitting the required documents and the timeline for completing their membership. The Treasurer, on the other hand, discussed the financial obligations of being a member, including the annual dues and the chapter's budget allocation for various activities.
Overall, the interview program was not just a success but a resounding one. It set the stage for the formal induction of these new members into the UAP Davao Chapter. The applicants left the event with a clear understanding of what was expected of them and a strong sense of belonging to the chapter. The program strengthened the chapter's membership base but also reinforced the chapter's commitment to fostering a vibrant and engaged community of architects in Davao.
