In a momentous gathering at the District D1A Joint Induction, the United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) was introduced to a renewed vision for its future, articulated by newly elected National President Donato B. Magcale and distinguished guest speaker, UAP Past National President, Ar. Benjamin K. Panganiban, Jr.
A Vision for a Progressive UAP
NP Donato B. Magcale, who begins his term for 2024-2025, unveiled his vision for the UAP under the guiding principle of S.T.R.O.N.G. UAP:

Sustainable: Focused on the long-term performance and efficiency of the UAP through the adaptation of best practices and organized service delivery.

Thriving: Enhancing the organization’s capabilities in networking, inclusivity, and career progression. This includes fostering professional exchanges and collaborations to ensure that the UAP continues to thrive.

Resilient: Building organizational resilience to address and adapt to both internal and external challenges effectively. This includes a top-down approach to anticipate and solve problems swiftly.

Operational: Ensuring that the right people are in place to effectively manage and execute the UAP’s projects and meet members’ needs. Emphasis is placed on internal operational management to streamline services.

Notable: Upholding the UAP’s position as the premier IAPOA (Internationally Accredited Professional Organization) for architects, safeguarding its professional and corporate values.

Growing: Managing an annual influx of new Registered Licensed Architects (RLAs), focusing on inclusive growth, and supporting the welfare of members. With over 30,000 members in good standing and a significant percentage of young architects, the UAP aims to continue expanding its influence and membership.

Guest speaker, UAP Past National President, Ar. Benjamin K. Panganiban, Jr. delivered an impactful address centered around the theme of “Pagtambayayong”, which means mutual support and working together:

Collaboration for Progress: Panganiban highlighted the need for architects to work together towards a unified direction, emphasizing, “Iisang bangka lang tayo at iisang direction lang tayo,” which translates to “We are all in the same boat, heading in the same direction.”
