The UAP Davao Chapter held its latest General Membership Meeting on October 24, 2024, at Lanai Filipino Diner & Drinks, where 65 members gathered to discuss ongoing and upcoming chapter initiatives. We were privileged to have the support of our valued industry partner, the XProject Hotel Supply Depot, who showcased their latest products and contributed exciting raffle items, adding to the camaraderie and enthusiasm of the event.
The meeting's agenda covered vital topics central to the chapter's mission and growth. Notably, members reviewed Resolutions No. 5 and No. 7, Series of 2024, which pertain to operational improvements within the chapter. Additionally, the chapter highlighted its participation in World Architecture Day, celebrated in collaboration with District 1A. As part of this observance, the chapter participates in a tree-planting activity, reflecting our commitment to environmental sustainability and community service.
Ar. Aloy took the opportunity to present a recap of the 4th Liturgical Architecture Conference, Langkub, which the UAP Davao Chapter hosted. This event attracted nearly 200 participants and was a significant platform for discussing integrating cultural diversity and Catholic traditions in liturgical architecture. The conference's success underscored the chapter's leadership role in advancing meaningful discussions within the architectural community.
The National Conference of Architects (NCA) was also a focal point of discussion. During this conference, the National Board of Directors reported on their achievements during their first 100 days in office and outlined a strategic 10-year plan to guide the organization forward. The NCA featured prominent speakers, including a distinguished guest from Davao - our very own member, Ar. Ian Kelby Yamyamin and Ar. Neil Bersabi - and concluded with a fellowship event at Discovery Samal, fostering greater unity among attendees.
The Sports Committee announced the upcoming UAP Davao Halloween Run 2024 to promote health, wellness, and community engagement. This event invites members to celebrate the season while supporting a good cause, providing an opportunity for fun and active participation within the chapter.
The October meeting was productive, reinforcing the chapter's commitment to growth, sustainability, and member engagement. The involvement of XProject Hotel Supply Depot and the enthusiasm of all attendees made this event memorable, paving the way for future successes and initiatives.
