The UAP Davao Chapter successfully held its 3rd General Membership Meeting (GMM) on September 26, 2024, at the 6th Floor of Star Hotel, Mabini St., Poblacion, Davao City. The meeting was generously sponsored by SHERA BOARDS, which provided exciting raffle prizes to engage and reward members for their active participation. The event brought together a large assembly of the chapter, with 9 past presidents, 11 officers, and 51 members attending in person, while 48 more members joined the meeting online, showcasing the strong commitment and unity of the chapter despite the hybrid setup.
The meeting was particularly festive as it included a celebration for members who were born in September. This gesture of camaraderie fostered a deeper sense of belonging and unity among the members. In a special highlight of the evening, one new member was inducted into the chapter in a ceremony that emphasized the importance of expanding the membership base and integrating fresh talent into the organization.
Key items of the meeting agenda included the presentation, ratification, and approval of two important resolutions: one Standing Chapter Resolution No. 5. These resolutions were approved by the members and further solidified the chapter's operational frameworks and strategic direction. Additionally, the Treasurer and Auditor presented their respective reports, providing a transparent overview of the chapter’s financial status and audit activities. The reports were well-received by the members, reinforcing confidence in the chapter's financial health and operational integrity.
In his President’s Report, UAP Davao Chapter President highlighted a significant proposal to create an operational manual for the chapter. This initiative aims to standardize procedures and promote greater efficiency in the chapter's operations. Moreover, the President proposed the engagement of an external auditor, a move that aligns with the chapter’s commitment to transparency and sound financial practices. Both proposals were met with positive responses from the members, laying the groundwork for future discussions and implementation.
Several important announcements were made during the meeting, including the upcoming 4th Liturgical Architecture Conference in October, the Annual National Conference of Architects (NCA), and the highly anticipated UAP Halloween Run 2024 UAP Davao Chapter in November. These events are expected to attract substantial member participation and contribute to the chapter's calendar of activities for the remainder of the year.
The meeting concluded at 9:48 PM, marking another productive and successful gathering of the UAP Davao Chapter. Members departed with a renewed sense of purpose and engagement, thanks to the thoughtful discussions, resolutions passed, and the enthusiastic participation in the evening’s activities. The chapter continues to thrive through collaborative efforts, and the success of this GMM is a testament to the strong leadership and dedicated membership that define UAP Davao.
